The Krueger Neighborhood Association of Michigan City, hereafter referred to as KNA, was originally founded July 20, 2004 .

Purpose: The purpose of KNA is to:

A. Encourage socializing and citizen participation to improve the livability of the neighborhood and the city of Michigan City .

B. Maintain communication between members, other neighborhood associations, the City of Michigan City and regional governments.

C. Attempt through meetings and other means to ascertain and articulate the issues, the priorities and the goals of its members.

D. Undertake, encourage and support projects and activities to achieve those goals.

Since 2004, the Krueger Neighborhood Association has accomplished our primary goal of getting to know and trust our neighbors by working together toward common goals and socializing at many events.

Our Halloween Party, Chili Cook-off, Candidate Forums and Movie Nights have proven to be excellent events for our purpose of coming together as a neighborhood.

We have also worked closely with our government representatives and the City of Michigan City to make improvements such as additional stop signs that enhance safety in our neighborhood. We've also had a significant impact on the beautification of our area, on the enforcement of local housing codes, and on communications throughout the neighborhood.

One of the most important parts of our monthly meetings is the "Police Report." A representative of our police department attends every meeting - helping us to improve the safety of the neighborhood for its residents and visitors. We thank the Michigan City Police Department and, in particular, Sgt. Chris Yagelski who has done so much for us.

A rule we live by -- no matter how many or how few of our neighbors show up, the show will go on and there will be a meeting. You can count on that.
